Terrible Tsunami in Aceh
Pascal Kainic and a team of French volunteers participate in the effort of reconstruction after the Indonesian disaster. At Meulaboh, Indonesia-Relief Fisherman community in Meurebo, West Aceh, is ready to go back to business.
A Franco-Indonesian NGO, Laut Nusantara, in cooperation with the local fishermen's association, Panglima Laot, has reequipped the fishermen with necessary equipment to go fishing.
Pascal Kainic, Laut Nusantara Coordinating Director in Indonesia, told Indonesia Relief that the fishing equipment has been given to the community on Sunday. The equipment includes 100 new ice boxes and 4,000 buoys of various sizes. Additional tools, including fishing nets, hook tools, and boat engines will also be provided.
