The torpedoing and foundering of the Curacao (WWII)


She was a big cargo ship of 8.000 tons, on a voyage from Africa to New york.

Torpedoed in the Atlantic, she was lost off Venezuela in probably less than 300 meters of water, with a precious general cargo and  non-ferrous metal on board.

She had 2.500 tons of copper ingots for a today's value of approximately US$ 22.000.000 and some gold concentrates.
