The Livourne wrecked and lost (19th century)


On a voyage from Leghorn (Italy) to New York, the Livourne was lost 6 miles of Fire Island Lighthouse and was totally wrecked.

Her precious cargo of general merchandises from Europe and marble, included the statue of John C. Calhoun (representative and Senator from South Carolina and Vice President of the United States. 1782-1850) belonging to a Countess who lost also other precious items.
