the ss leopoldville was built in 1929.on world war2.she was turned into a troop ship.transporting thousands of troops.on december 24,1944.she was torpedo by u-486.the torpedo killed 300 american troops.hms brillant came to save as many as she can.she only saved 900 men.but 1200 were still onboard.she took about 1100 men.about 1000 men survivied.she was kept top serect.she went down cherboug.this is to the men who died on the leopoldville.so she will never be forgotten.
