U S S Indianapolis Still At Sea

She is one of the worst disasters in the history of the US Navy. On July 30th 1945, the Portland Class Heavy Cruiser, USS Indianapolis, was torpedoed by the Japanese Submarine I-58and lost. By the time the survivors were rescued four days later only 316 of her crew of 1,196 were left alive
