Waitt Expeditions: Ionian Sea, Albania

The Waitt Institute for Discovery took part in a two-week exploratory expedition off the coast of southern Albania in August of 2008. The Waitt Institute's team of divers explored and documented an ancient shipwreck from the 3rd century BCE that had been discovered the previous summer by the RPM Nautical Foundation. The expedition team accumulated information that will be used to help evaluate the shipwrecks potential for a future archaeological excavation and further study of its features.
